The Douglasdale Community Police Forum came into existence when the then SAPS Douglasdale separated and became an autonomous police station from Randburg SAPS and initially bore the name Northwest Community Police Forum. With the help of the public and business donors such as Monte Casino, the Douglasdale Police Station was financed and constructed as a satellite station. The areas around the station have experienced massive growth and population influx as can be seen from the various shopping complexes now located in the Douglasdale precinct area, thus necessitating the upgrade of the station to that of a fully autonomous precinct under a Director.
